Getting Started with Hyder

Welcome to Hyder, your gateway to secure Web3 messaging. This guide will walk you through the basics of setting up and using Hyder.

Initial Setup

Hyder works directly in your browser, requiring only a Web3 wallet for authentication. We support over 400 wallets, including MetaMask, WalletConnect, and Coinbase Wallet.

Key Generation

Upon first use, Hyder will help you generate your PGP key pair:

• Your public key can be shared freely and is used by others to send you encrypted messages

• Your private key never leaves your device and is used to decrypt messages sent to you

• Keys are stored securely in your local browser storage

• Share your public key or wallet address

• Start sending encrypted messages
